Negative Press

Earlier today, while looking at my Facebook page, I came across a post that read: FAYGO CORP. ISSUES "CEASE AND DESIST" LETTER TO ICP/JUGGALOS.  I read the article written about the case that the soda pop giant based out of Detroit, Michigan, where the Insane Clown Posse also hails from, and was immediately filled with disdain on the subject.  I clicked the 'share' tab and left a comment, which quickly morphed into social commentary.  Impressed (somewhat) with the literary piece I'd so freely constructed, I decided, rather spontaneously, to put it into blog form.  I hope you will LIKE it and will SHARE / RETWEET it, upon your completion of reading it.   ENJOY!!

Talk about complete horse shit.  The Insane Clown Posse has been using Faygo products in their shows for DECADES and it is only now that the company wishes to disassociate themselves from the rap duo?  I call complete bullshit.  I read this article and the description of the rap artists can't be further from the truth.  While their concerts and music harbour a 'horror' theme, the antics of most of their fans, the Juggalos, aren't that of violence.  It's true that (for some reason) the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have labelled ICP and their legions of fans as a gang and people of interest of whom they keep a close watchful eye, but again, that statement couldn't be further from the truth.

I have been a fan of the Insane Clown Posse for many many years.  I accepted them into my life during a particular tumultuous time of my life, when I was dealing with the passing of my father.  I was sad, depressed and angry all at once, and the music of the Insane Clown Posse really helped to guide me through that emotional minefield.  I've never looked upon their music as anything but what it was.  An attempt at humour through song.  Yes, much of it IS of a horror nature, but done so with a tongue-in-cheek mentality.

I have, in my possession, a documentary about one of their yearly The Gathering of the Juggalos concerts.  Thousands upon thousands of fans get together for several days of festivities which include concerts, comedy acts and even professional wrestling, among other endeavours.  Most people would assume that the event is riddled with crime and misconduct.  Fights are sure to occur and the authorities must rain down on the site, like spring showers in April, but this is not the case.  In the documentary I have, there is one example of a fellow accused of stealing.  He was immediately caught and removed from the event, arrested by the authorities.  He was consequently released by police and later snuck back into the festival, at which time he was promptly caught and detained, peacefully.  No gang mentality.  No violence.  Nothing.  Juggalos, for the most part, share a common belief.  ICP, despite their criticism, is all about unity between all races, creeds and what not.  Violent J (Joe Bruce), I've heard quoted as being quite religious.  This attitude doesn't seem like one of a social pariah.

The fact that a few "Juggalos" are perverting the messages sent out by the Insane Clown Posse, is ruining the culture for everyone who is True Juggalo Family.  I've never once listened to the music and thought about going out and beating someone down for the hell of it and pouring soda pop on them.  The reasoning behind Faygo's Cease and Desist Order, is as unjust as the rest of society's hatred of Muslims.  A few religious zealots perverting the Quran to befit their own delusions, is fouling the faith of the 1.6 billion Muslims in the world.  (If they were all hell bent on the destruction of our society, I'm sure 1.6B would f*ck a lot of shit up.)  The same goes for ICP and their legions of Juggalos.  There aren't 1.6 billion, but there are enough to catch the eye of the Federal Government.  A few bad seeds have spoiled the bunch of us Juggalos.

Yes.  I am a JUGGALO and god damn it, I AM PROUD of it!!

So Faygo Beverages Inc. can do whatever the f*ck they want.  Their soda pop tastes like stale shit, and that is when it's fresh.  Dumping it on the heads of overheated screaming fans was complimentary, as far as I'm concerned.  However, with the economy being flushed down the toilet in Detroit, Michigan, these days, it's only right, I suppose, that one of the companies still experiencing success, will self-destruct.  I think the "damage is done".  ICP have been (unofficially) promoting the product for, literally, decades.  They even include the Faygo name in many of their lyrics, and have done so with a positive spin.  If the band no longer uses it in their concerts, loyal fans will discontinue supporting the company and sales will dwindle, but those few "juggalos-by-name-only", who have f*cked all this up, will be foolish enough to continue doing what they do.

  1. Sorry, it's a fake news story from a fake news site. Faygo confirms it's fake and they never sent any letter.

Everything on that site is fake, and pretty unfunny. These guys figured it out pretty quick:
